Plans are underway to establish the Tashkent International Financial Center (TIFC)

On March 25, 2026, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed a presentation on the project to establish the Tashkent International Financial Center.

This center will operate in the following areas:

  • financial, investment, and banking activities;
  • insurance;
  • digital assets;
  • securities;
  • payment systems and services;
  • financial technologies.

Between 2026 and 2030, the plan is to transform this center into an effective tool for attracting new types of investment; it is expected that the center will bring an additional $20–25 billion into the country’s economy.

The implementation of key operational mechanisms for the center is envisaged, including:

  • a special legal regime (application of common law (England and Wales));
  • tax and customs incentives for the center’s participants and residents;
  • free repatriation of profits and a simplified foreign exchange regime;
  • as well as other instruments aimed at protecting investors’ rights.

There are also plans to establish the Tashkent International Commercial Court and the International Arbitration Court, which will specialize in resolving disputes within the center under a special legal regime.

It should be noted that the project is being implemented as part of the “Uzbekistan – 2030” strategy to enhance the economy’s global competitiveness.
