New law on licensing, permission and notification procedures
For the first time in the history of Uzbekistan, licensing, permission and notification procedures are governed by one Law. This is the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. LRU-701 of 14.07.2021 “On licensing, permission and notification procedures”, published today, July 15, 2021.
The law defines:
- the grounds for the introduction of licensing and permission procedures;
- the powers of state bodies in the sphere of licensing, permission and notification procedures;
- creation of a special electronic system “License”, a platform through which licensing, permission and notification procedures are carried out, the interaction of state bodies and organizations takes place in this area and monitoring of compliance with the relevant requirements and conditions is carried out;
- maintaining open registers of licenses, permissive documents and notifications;
- the procedure for appealing decisions of authorized bodies in the field of licensing, permission and notification procedures.
The law comes into force from the date of its official publication. From this date, a number of legislative acts that previously regulated this area become invalid.
The provisions of this Law regulating the implementation of state control in the field of licensing, permission and notification procedures come into force 3 months after its official publication.
