This memorandum provides a comparative overview of the main relocation variants, including investment and work visas, as well as obtaining permanent residency.

The key requirements and conditions applicable to each variant are set out in the comparative table below.

Duration of granted visa or residence permit: Issued for up to 3 years, with an unlimited number of extensions without the need to leave the Republic of Uzbekistan. Issued for the validity period of the confirmation of the right to engage in employment: up to 3 years for qualified and highly qualified specialists (as well as other categories for which a three-year period is established by law), and up to 1 year for other foreign employees.

The visa may be extended without leaving the Republic of Uzbekistan for the duration of the employment or civil-law contract.

Issued for 5 years, but not beyond the validity of the national passport. Upon reaching the age of 60, a residence permit is issued for the validity period of the national passport.

The validity of the residence permit may be extended up to five times, after which it must be replaced.

Rights granted to family members: Family members of an investment visa holder (spouse, parents, and children) are eligible for a visitor visa valid for the same period as the investment visa, with the right to extend it without leaving the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Accordingly, the applicant’s mother may obtain a visitor visa for the same period, whereas a brother is not eligible.

A Visitor Visa may be obtained by the family members.

It is issued for a period of up to one year to foreign citizens visiting the Republic of Uzbekistan upon the invitation of foreign citizens who are permanently accredited and registered in the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Permanent residence is granted only to the foreign citizen who has acquired real estate,

Family members do not acquire an independent right to permanent residence on this basis.

Only the spouse and children under 18 are entitled to obtain a permanent residence permit together with the foreign investor.
