The fee for customs clearance in the import of medicines and medical products is canceled
On 15.08.2023, the President signed Decree No. PD-140, which, from January 1, 2025, cancels the fee for customs clearance in the amount of 1.2% of the customs value for the import of medicines and medical products.
In addition, starting from 2024, the procedure for exempting products imported from certain countries from mandatory conformity assessment will be canceled, and the requirement for mandatory labeling of goods in the national language for customs clearance of goods in the “release for free circulation (import)” mode will also be abolished.
In addition to the above, it is planned to develop the following proposals:
- by October 1, 2023 – on automation (digitization) of the process of obtaining a license for the import of goods;
- by January 1, 2024 – on the adaptation of the system of subsidizing the compensation of transport costs to the requirements of the World Trade Organization;
- by November 1, 2023 – on the unification of the rates of customs duties levied for the clearance of goods under the customs regimes “export” and “import”, in accordance with the requirements of the World Trade Organization.
