We are familiar with matters relating to importation of telecommunication equipment, licensing and other regulatory compliance issues in telecoms sphere, advertising over the internet and contractual matters in telecoms sphere.

We are familiar and experienced in the telecoms law. Thus, we practiced licensing of telecommunications, importation of telecommunication equipment, client agreements and advertising.

Our firm has substantial experience of advising two biggest investors on acquisition of mobile cellular business in Uzbekistan. We have assisted them with Legal Due Diligence of the local operators and perfection of transactions on taking over thereof. We also were engaged for providing of legal research of local companies engaged in telecommunication business and issuing of relevant legal opinions.

  • From 2008 to 2015 we advised “Unitel LLC” major local mobile phone operator on versatile contractual matters, daily operations, taxation and other regulatory issues.

Nokia

  • Advised client from 2006 to 2009 on Standard Safety texts, Warnings and Disclaimers in relation to various mobile products.

TeliaSonera (Acquisition of Coscom mobile phone company)

  • In 2007 Azizov & Partners advised TeliaSonera in relation to acquisition of major shareholding in the Uzbek mobile operator company Coscom (currently U-Cell). This advising included M&A issues, anti-monopoly compliance matters and other regulatory issues.

Acquisition of JV Telecom Inc (Skytel mobile phone operator) by Uzbek Telecom Company

  • From 2006 to 2008 Azizov & Partners advised the company in relation to its participation in the capital of the Uzbek mobile operator company (brand name Skytel). The advising included assistance with licensing and other compliance disputes, litigation, M&A issues, winding up, employee dissolutions and other regulatory compliance matters.

Motorola

  • Advised client throughout 2002 to 2007 on various issues relating to functioning of the repoffice, including contractual law, employment, manufacturing and other daily operation matters.

Vympelcom (Acquisition of Buztel and Unitel mobile phone companeis)

This advising in 2005 included performance of legal due diligence of Buztel (Uzbek mobile telecommunications company) and advising on various corporate and regulatory issues relating to share purchase in Buztel and Unitel (two local telecom companies).
